Title: Musings: A Shadow’s Secret Shadow

“Kitajima Maya and Hayami Masumi…” They were the core subjects of her thoughts nowadays; she pondered about these two everyday and every moment that she had the chance to think about them. Mizuki leaned back in her lavish and plush leather chair with her arms crossed behind her neck, a look of wonder that seemed to always be on her face nowadays, was upon it.

Mizuki sat in her own private office, right across from Masumi’s office. Her office was made of glass walls with cream colored lavish, velvet curtains over them for privacy; other than those curtains themselves, her office was rather plain in comparison to other secretaries who also worked under big-shot companies like Daito Corps. The floor was made of a beautiful, dark mahogany wood that seemed to sparkle with being waxed every day with high quality wax by the caretakers of the Daito Corps building. It was waxed and cleaned so good that you could almost see your exact reflection in it if you looked real close. A small, blue carpet sat in front of her custom-made blue and white desk, the desk being mainly white with an intricate design of wild life in blue on its front. The desk was currently occupied by Mizuki herself, papers in a neat pile here and there with a pencil holder for her many writing utensils and such. A small, white desk stood next to that desk, with a classy light blue reading lamp and white phone sitting on top of it. To the side, a white coach with stylish blue pillows stood against the wall with her means of entry into the office. Two, round plastic chairs stood in front of her desk, made to force people who occupy it to sit up straight.

On the walls themselves, a small, clearly plastic, shelf full of books, a light blue clock, and pictures stood next to the desk. Behind the desk, she had an overview of that theater that Tsukikage-Sensei had made with another troupe.

The phone rang loudly, snapping Mizuki out of her musings as she reached to press one of the many buttons on it. Speaking aloud, Mizuki curiously looked over at the direction of her employer, as the button flashing symbolized his office. “Yes, Masumi-Sama?”

Masumi replied back, with a rather shocking thing that suddenly irritated Mizuki at hearing it. “I need you to call over the limo, I have a lunch date with my fiancé. You can stay at the office; I won’t need your help for this.”

“Yes, Masumi-Sama.” Mizuki could have screamed at the idiotic man, for being this darn thick and stubborn about his feelings to Kitajima Maya. When would he get that Maya’s becoming a woman already?!!

Sighing to herself softly, Mizuki pressed another button and called for the limo to pick Masumi up. Turning to look out of the window briefly, Mizuki noticed Kitajima Maya running towards Tsukikage’s theater, with an exhilarated look on her face. Smiling a bit, Mizuki recalled the brief time that she had with being her manager with Daito Corps. She’d last heard of her being in a new play, something about her being the main character as a wolf girl of somesort who’d lost her parents. It was a bit preposterous as to how Maya would be able to pull it off, but after she’d seen that girl in Helen Keller, she wouldn’t be surprised. Mizuki was sure that Ayumi would be able to pull it off too, but Maya would fit that role even better than her.

Mizuki noticed that Maya came back out of the theater, with what appeared to be some of her stuff in her arms. ‘Quite peculiar…,’ she thought to herself as she rested her chin in her hands on the edge of the desk. She pondered about what Maya could possibly be doing, but it with that girl, anything could happen. She forced herself to turn her attention elsewhere, to one of the files on her desk. There were three files, one of Maya and Masumi; the other was of Masumi’s fiancé.

Taking one of her hands, the other still supporting her chin, Mizuki flipped through the each of the files, a sparkle in her eye as she plotted a rather dark plan. A plan to make Masumi’s fiancé somehow cut off all ties to Daito Corps. and another to make Maya and Masumi come together. If she remembered hearing right from one of her spies acquaintances, Masumi’s father had also showed a possible interest in Maya possibly becoming Masumi’s girlfriend… Or maybe even wife, if the odds were in Mizuki’s Maya and Masumi’s favor. After all, Maya also had a chance to own the rights to the Crimson Goddess.

Ooo, and think of the many possibilities of her, Mizuki, getting to plan out the possible wedding too!! And the kids… Cackling silently to herself in her mind, Mizuki held a huge smirk on her face as she was confident about everything going her way for once.

As Mizuki went through Maya’s file, she noticed another file under Maya’s, one that she must have accidently stole borrowed. A picture was clipped to the top inside of the file, one of Ayumi. ‘Ayumi…,’ Mizuki thought, a bit saddened after seeing her file. That girl could also possibly get in the way of her plans, not that the girl meant to do it on purpose. But it was because of the girls standing in both the high class and acting world; it could make things problematic, because she was the other candidate for the Crimson Goddess. The girl was much better in Maya in many ways but acting, which they both rival each other in.

Mizuki was sorely tempted to ruin the girl’s reputation, even if a bit, to make her less of a possible appealing wife for Masumi. Her thoughts were interrupted when the phone rang, this time calling her away from her office and to wait for Masumi on the front floor. She checked the time, looking at the clock on her wall, almost cursing at the time it showed. It was well past lunch time and she hadn’t even eaten, let alone get the things ready for Masumi’s schedule for the rest of the day. It was time, yet again, to leave the office and leave her thoughts of those two possible couple alone for now.

If Mizuki wasn’t smart enough not to smoke, she would have had lung cancer a long time ago with her continued ponderings of things not of her business.
